JDM B16 problem
Ok guys my friend has a eg hatch with a jdm b16 motor. PROBLEM: it turns on but when he presses the gas pedal it doesn't have any power as if one of the pistons is not workin or something. he has his check engine light on. the code it gives him is: VVS (vehicle speed sensor) defective circuit or unplugged/ defective sensor... somethng like that...
you guys have any ideas?
before this whole thing happened, his car wouldn't turn on. he changed, spark plugs, wires, distributor, and the ecu. by the way the ecu was changed due to having a burnt spot inside. wat was causing it to not turn on was the fuel system being clogged up somewhere. i wasn't there when he fixed it. so now that its on he's havin this CEL code/s, and doesn't get any power.
Thanks in advance

vvs is the speed sensor on the trans, reset ecu and see if cel comes back on. also make sure firing order is correct.
pull plugs, make sure its getting spark and also check for fuel. and check fuses

Pull all of the codes and fix them individually.
If there was a fuel system problem, did he change fuel filter, pump, or any of that stuff?
the VSS is right on top of the trans and it's plug can get dirty or moved/broken (especially during a swap). Pull it off, clean it out. Pull out the sensor itself and clean the part that goes inside the trans. Reinstall, plug in the connector, reset the ecu, and see what shakes out

Do what Forty said first, resolve all codes. If it still lacks power and doesn't run well, one of the cylinders could not be working. To check for dead cylinders, idle the engine and unplug the fuel injectors one at a time. It should slow down the same for each one. If you unplug one and nothing changes, that cylinder is not working. Could be lack of compression, no spark, or a bad fuel injector. Having the timing (cam or spark) way off will also cause very poor performance.
