Just ordered Strut Bars, Now a ?
Ok I ordered some strut bars front and rear. My question now in lies how can I paint them. I have read the stuff on painting other things but this is like real shiny metal. It will be by the hot engine but won't be rubbing on anything so it doesn't have to be super durable. Any help is appreciated.
Well it shouldn't have to be too durable is what I meant by saying it doesn't ahve to be super durable. And doesnt' everyone around here preach about not getting powdercoated. Patrick suggested just plain spray paint.
if you wanna do it yourself go to autozone or someplace by the high temp paint and primer like up to 500 degrees is all you will need wash the bars so get any chemicals off prime it and paint it you might want to rough the bars up a lil with sand paper to help it sick but thats your call
dont powdercoat wheels, unless you know that they will cure the powdercoating correctly. but other stuff is great! thats what powdercoat is made for. its perfect for changine colors on stuff and it wont chip as easily as spray paint. but for about 5 bucks, you can get a can of that 500* paint. that should be decent. though it will scratch a little around where the bolts hold it down.
