i was wondering if there is a website online that i could buy a brand new k20 motor at. and if not and i have to get it out of another car what series of k 20 will fit in what civics?

 

I dont think you can buy a K20 brand new, you can get them with less then 40k miles on them though. You can put any K20 engine in a civic, that being said you will need swap parts. Here is a website with a list of parts you will need (and some you dont). As for the motor itself just go to any of those import motor websites they have buckets of them for 5-7 grand. Or you can try your local junkyard, I found 2 K20s for $2500 at a junkyard...each.

it's an easier swap into 7th gen & 8th gen civics than it is into older generations (so 2001+), and it's a direct swap into a 7th gen Si (EP/Hatchback, as they all ready have K series engines)

 

there is only one series of k20...and that is, the k20...there are varients like k20a...etc. there is also a series of k that is the K24....
