I'm getting some lagging/putting in second gear. Yes, I'm certain that I'm not shifting too soon. Any ideas?

Also, how do you reset the ECU?

 

What do you mean by lag? Do you mean your car is running sluggish or you can't get it in gear? What are the symptoms?

 

It just seems like it lags when I am accelerating through second gear. I can feel the car "putt-putting" when I am maintaining the same level of acceleration on the gas pedal. It's absolutely running sluggish. I really don't understand why, but I could venture a guess.

I doubt that the shop I took my car to a while back reset the ECU after they replaced the exhaust manifold (which was cracked). When they did that, they broke the #1 o2 sensor and I had to pay for that getting replaced, but only after I had to drive it a really long way. I probably damaged my cat to some extent.

So...first things first...anyone know how to reset the ECU?

 

unplug your negative batter terminal and leave it undone for like a min. Then put it back on...ECU reset.

 

damn...that easy? I thought that you had to do some sequence of things to reset it. thanks...
