are you talking about is it legal or illegal to put it in your car? well i know here in colorado it is illegal to put an older motor in a newer car... but i know a lot of states will fail a car if it has a motor swap rather than getting it to pass

 

yes they are also illegal because those engines never came in any of the civics here in the U.S. you can put it in your car, but if you try to smog it, you will fail visual

 

swaping over to a different engine is illegal then why so much people do it?

 

Neon, dark tint, switching to racing steering wheel...the list goes on. Why does anyone do something illegal to their car? They want it done enough that we don't care if its illegal or not.

 

Many states still dont care... thats why.

 

people do it because the motors that came from japan such as b18c came in 94-00 integras here in the U.S. these motors can be legalized w/ all the right U.S. emmision hooked up. as for the dohc ZC's, they never came in any of the cars here in the U.S. so therefore they can't be legalized.
