Well guys I looked at a 94 EJ1 today. I think I'm going to get it when I sell my truck. I was wondering though, the engine code I'm pretty sure I saw ZC and the valve cover had the VTEC on it. Which engine is that? Shouldn't it say Z6 if it was the origional motor? It's a SOHC btw.

Edit. Actually after searching I think that ZC is the same as the z6 correct?

 

If I'm not mistaken, the zc is different than the z6. If the coupe you looked at was indeed an EX, than it should have had the z6 (VTEC) engine. I have heard that the zc engine is better for turboing purposes, but I would know nothing about that as I run N/A. Keep searchin' a little more, as I'm going to bed and can't help you further until the mornin'.

 

It was an ex cause the stuff it had and in the VIN, EJ1 was right there near the begining. I'm not positive it did say zc cause I didn't get a real good look at it though. To me it looked like the same motor as the first one I looked at did which was also an ej1 5spd

 

Never mind..... it got sold[:@]. The odo was rolled back though. Carfax said in Nov 06 it had 113xxx on it but still it couldn't have that many miles. I'm never going to find me a damn civic.[:'(]
