Default Most efficient non-hybrid civic

hello, i am looking to buy a civic for around 5-6 grand and i want to know which models and years have the best gas mileage-taking into account the model whether it be the dx, lx, or ex, and the engine types. Also does a VTEC engine get the same mpg as a SOHC but just have more power?

The most efficient will the cx,vx, and hx. But some of the parts for these engines are expensive because they are not as common as the other models.

look for the vx or hx. they have a different kind of vtec, and get considerably better mileage than the other ones, and have quite a bit more power than the cx, which gets good mileage, but just through simply not having much power.
