Ihave an 02 civic ex, header, intake, 2.25 exhaust, and it doesnt seem to be going as fast as it should be. I don't know if its because the piping is too big, or if its because i had to remove the cat for the headers or what. Any insight on this problem would be great.

 

Welcome to the D17 engine. You're fortunate that you have the VTEC version of the engine, because it gives you a little more, but the reality is that our engines don't respond well to bolt ons. You're only options to get a lot more power are a turbo or a K-series swap. Eitherway, expect to be dropping 5K or above.

 

Your car isnt going to be any faster because you bolted on an exhaust, intake and header. You only gained just a couple of HP from those mods. Deff. nothing that you will be able to really feel with your *** dyno.

yaa simple bolt ons arnt gena do much. civics are hella slow in straight line, minor work like that, their still very slow..even with a decent turbo kit, they arnt much to drool over. fast=$$$$, atleast in the world of drag racing..

 

hmmm, time to invest in a swap then haha, or just another car.

 

You can always just buy an 8 cylinder mustang if your not up to the challenge of builing up a four cylinder.
