^+1......... i would just do a suspension and wheels/tires and own the corners. my car felt a little faster after my catback...but mainly because my stock muffler weight about 5 pounds less than my whole new exhaust. and the gain wasnt even that noticeable. i would just go 15's with some fat tires (careful, i ran into a size problem because my car was lowered so much) and a suspension and you will enjoy finding fast lines through the twisties a lot more than just going in a straight line.

K20 is lots of $. People need to realize that they cant get a stock civic, do intake, header and exhaust and have a "fast and furious street racing machine". Its a damn econo box.......they can be fast, but it takes $..........A regular D series honda engine can be made "quick" for $1,000 or so.........but a D17 takes much more, because theyre the red headed step child of the D series engines.

Great explanation. I'm going to start using that along with my "SOHC is like having one ********" posts.

ive heard of rebuilding and then turboing but that costs more than k20a. youd have a 220 hp engine. start savin bro i got the same problem as you i have an 01 ex coupe and i wanted to make it fast as hell. if ur that much into civics go k20a. but if not..**** i dunno save up for an STI lol

I say get a 5th or 6th gen Civic. There are many options for swaps and can turbo those engines and make a pretty decent beast. I assume you don't plan on making a race car, but you could be pushing a good 300hp after turbo.
What I would do, just to save some money is look at your autotrader or whatever and find a nice 5th or 6th gen civic with a swap already done. There are plenty out there and they are going for around 3000-6000 with some other mods as well. Then just make a beast out of that.
I know a lot of people with not agree about the last paragraph but to save lots of money on a swap and all you have to do now is turbo.
Goodluck.
