Naah...it's not VTEC. It's WOT mode...at least that's what its called on dodges.

WOT = wide open throttle. Usually present on all automatic transmission equiped cars. Designed to make it easier for you to get uphill...some people in avengers and auto slomaros around here actually make it kick in all the time and consider it a worthwhile mod...(kinda like the ricer intake resistor). As I uderstand it's just another map in the ECU that dumps a crapload of fuel in it and sometimes downshifts the tranny

 

or its called over drive, every auto has it..in my old sunbird it kicked in evertime i had to floor it to get up a hill

 

Overdrive should be a very high gear for highway use only...to get the most milage. Overdrive shouldn't be engaged when you're going uphill

yeh hes right, its a common mistake ppl make thinking overdrive is for hauling and going up hills
