Default New Project Car?

Hey guys im new to the forum as you can see and i come with questions.
I have been wanting a hatchback for a while and recently found one that could be a nice project. Heres the specs:
1993 civic vx
acura integra B18 B1 engine and tranny swap
Adjustable coilover shocks
Header
rear disk brake conversion
cold air intake...

New motor has 80,000 on it and so does the tranny.

physically the car is shot and i would need to right away get new fenders, hood, body kit, rear wheel wells look bondo'd to hell but def. fixable

i was thinking of getting carbon fiber hood, fenders, and such.

anyways what im asking is the motor any good or would i need to swap it out with something better? anytips for a new civic owner to make this a great daily runner?

My original intentions of the vehicle are to wall it and put 2 18's or 15's and make it loud

Sorry I missed this one.

That's a decent engine. 80K on a Honda is nothing to worry about. The b18b1 is a common swap and makes decent power.

As far as it being a daily driver... if you plan on putting a serious system in it you'll need to get an alarm of course. Depending on how much your audio system weighs, you might want to look into some suspension mods to handle the extra weight.

If you're willing to do the body work, it's worth it to you and thats what matters.

I have 10k to begin work on it. The car is 2000 so i can bag it, get the parts to begin exterior reconstruction and repaint it. I know a pretty good painter that can paint pretty cheap. Im thinking black on black. I just need a good online store to get a carbon fiber: body kit, hood, fenders, wheels, and so on... Any good online retailers?

System wise i plan on 2 Btl 18's or 15's on two sundown 4500's. 14 cube wall tuned to 32 hz. 8 kinetik 2400's and ho alt if they make on for the car from dc power...

Nice budget. We'll definitely need pics of the car.

As for a CF retailer... I dunno there. I'm sure there's someone on here that knows of one though.

theres nothing special about the car as it sits. Thats why im on here trying to learn and be smart about it... Its gonna be around car shows and sound competitions so i know it has to look good also. I also dont know where im going to find a new dash and center console.

At this point im wondering if it wouldnt be best to just find a car in better condition to begin with.

Definitely put it together you're self. You'll learn a lot. You can find a new dash and center console at a local junkyard. 2 18s or even 15's is way more than enough for a hatchback. Even 2 12's will be enough, but if you ARE going to take it to sound shows then it'll work. Just make sure to sound deaden that ****!

I think there's a CF Retailer over on the HT market place but I'm not sure about posting links from there so I'll let someone else deal with that or you can pm me.

It's a great car to start with, especially for $2,000. I wish I had of found something with those goodies at that price, would've made life so much easier.

So I say stick with it, and check back here with any questions you have!

edit: pics or gtfo

^You can post links to the HT-M. They're kind of the exception to the rule because it's a major parts source for everyone, not just one retailer.

Just my .02 cents...
No body kit!
Maybe a lip kit, but no need for riceyness.

That being said, good luck!
keep us updated with some pics!

Ok guys the purpose of the car isnt really a daily vehicle but more of a weekend driver type.

I tend to baby my cars and really take care of them.

pics of my last project car that didnt end up so well...
