New User- Looking for Advice
Alright guys so here's the story,
Im a Subaru Enthusiast since birth, it's all I have ever been around or messed with. Well Im trying to branch out, because AWD is nice but I want something for AXes and track racing, though a Subie is good for that I need to start small and work my way up to the WRX .
I have a 2.5 GT now but it feels heavy and the cornering isn't what I would like it to be.
Well I thought about driving a civic plus as I am learning I want this car to be good on gas hehe, so I test drove a 01 Civic EX today and it rode like a dream, it has 75000 miles on it and with the EX package...no leather. he wants 8300 for it, good deal or no?
and what do you think of the 01 Civic (Pros, Cons, Stories) hoping to get an idea or what to pursue, I want good gas mileage with as I grow as a driver easy tuning capability but yet competitive. if you have any other suggestions for cars or types to try feel free and say Im up for trying any car atm.

8300 seems really steep to me. if you want it to be competitive...get a really good suspension setup. Start with I/H/E for a slightly better throttle response.

RE: New User- Looking for Advice
01 EX has a d17a2, which is hard to build (not much aftermarktet support, etc.) and fuel management/tuning is hard to do since you cant just convert back to OBD1, so its either piggyback/AFC or standalone. Idk, i think they look AWESOME, other than the 6th gens, they are my favorite looking gen, and suspension mods/a nice set of I/H/E, it'd be a super fun car to drive, but for boost/N/A build, its not really the platform you want to start with
no idea about the price though, sorry

If you want to boost go with a 6th generation and not a 7th generation...There ain't really too much after market parts for the 7th generation. About the price seems a little high...It's your called. Those cars are great economy cars and that is it.

Alright, so Im going to say no to the 01 after your replies. So why is the Aftermarket so low? just no demand yet, possibly grow? and what kind of civic would you recommend? sorry don't know the difference between 7th and 6th gen. Any specific one? and also would you maybe recommend an accord or prelude instead of a civic persay?

6th generation 96-00 7th generation 01-05 8th 06 to present
for 6th generation I say go For an Si or Ex...The Si won't be cheap but it has way more power than the EX. You can get about anything for the 6th generation ( after market parts)

92=95 = 5th gen
96-00 = 6th gen
01-05 = 7th gen
06+ = 8th gen
an 01 SI has a k20a3, and K's are a much better platform (alot more aftermarket support, K-pro for tuning, DOHC, etc.), so if you could find one of them go for it, if not a low miles, close to stock 6th gen would be prime.

what about that? only problem is all the mods are almost done for me and I wouldn't have time to experience the car!
