First off....Hello everyone!!!!!!

I searched the threads and didn't see anything like this but my question is: My son has a 1986 civic SI. The hood release cable has stretched to the point it will not release. The dealers no longer can order this part. I search the u pick it parts places here with no success. Does anyone know where I can get one or what will work in it's place in the aftermarket world? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are mere general maintenance mechanics out of necessity but possess enough common sense to handle most things.

Your local dealership says they do not have this part? Strange. Found parts at my dealership for similar years. You may also have luck at any autoparts stores < i love advanced auto >. Or, http://www.myhondapartsstore.com/myh...s=&view=normal

 

Thanks for the info Punisher. All advance Auto had was universal cables which would be my last resort. I appreciate the link to the Honda Parts Store. Maybe our dealerships here are just being lazy..........we will see. Thanks again.

 

Not a problem sir. Don't forget sites like Ebay. Found some nice lights and stuff for my 4th gen. loved them.
