Allright, I'm gonna jump in here...
1) Get an older SE-R (late 80s/early 90s). Those so-called "ugly ones" will put the hurt on pcupo's car, turbo and all. SR20DE stock means it's sooo ridiculously easy to do the DET swap (from a FWD, of course). However, if you don't keep up on basic maintainance, they go through factory cams pretty quick.
2) New SE-R's suck. Period. But it seems like you guys have already discovered that.
3) Older SE-R's are 2 doors, not 4. They aren't 6-speeds either.

Yes, there are auto Si's, just not in the 2001+, and i don't know about the newest ones.
