07si: I have had my '06 lx 5-sp manual sedan well over 110 MPH in fourth gear, and still climbing. Isn't that fast enough? I read a review that says 122 is the top speed. And this is with a 1.8L engine. Are you talking bragging rights here, or do you really need something faster? I know the Civic corners well enough to cause my passengers concern, so what more do you need?

Edit: Tonight coming home from a dance, I was bombing down the backroads near Prophetstown, IL, going about 80, when a car approached from the rear. A late model Ford Escort passed me and sped off. I followed him up to about 95, then I shifted back to fourth, passed him back and got up to 117 before I had to slow for a corner. We continued dicing for the next ten miles or so. It was no contest cornering or on the straight. These Gen8 1.8L Civics are little hotrods. I don't need an SI, thank you. I can get in enough trouble with this car.

Ill answer your question for you since i have a buddy w/ a 06 si; He's taken GTI, older civics, cobalt ss, v6 stangs, some older v8 cars like 94-98 Mustang gt's should be cake. the 99-04 GT's will take you down low but up top can be close. You can read my post i start about the 05-07 Mustang GTs; it was closed

Once she brakes in, have fun!

faster...i like my passangers "loud and squirmy!" fast to me is being able to at least double the "suggested corner speed" on most roads...(i know its dangerous, but its fun to me)

I was just wondering and I really do appreciate you guys answering. I do have some experience driving, not to say I'm a pro but better than the average tool who gets a honda or a mustang and rips it in suburban neighborhoods where they can run a kid over. I have heard however that the LSD in the Si is really bad *** when it comes to cornering, I haven't tried it yet but it should be fun.

the si is not a fast car and its not a slow car, its an average car with a little extra kick. so any average cars you should be able to beat. (almost all v6s)
