Default Options options options...

Ok so my birthday is coming up in January (the 10th) and I need gift suggestions. Given we just had Christmas and I got most of what I need, the only things I can think of that I want (that are not ludicrously expensive) are parts for my civic. SO I will post what y options would be and would appreciate feedback.

OPTION 1: Timing belt, Wheel Bearing and Intake

I ask for a timing belt replacement kit (I have no idea when it was done last so I want to do it asap) and get my dad to come with me to the U-Pull lot and take the parts I need to put a y8 intake manifold swap. While I do the timing belt I can do water pump, coolant flush and check my valve clearances. Also my left rear wheel bearing needs to be changed so get that done too.

OPTION 2: Megan 4-2-1 Header

Have my parents buy me the 4-2-1 header for my exhaust conversion I am doing in the spring

OPTION 3: Magnaflow High flow cat

Have my parents buy me the Magnaflow High flow Cat for my exhaust conversion I am doing in the spring

OPTION 4: Projectors

Have my parents buy me The Option Racing Projector Headlight units I want to install.

I myself am leaning towards option 1, because I will see the most immediate benefit. Also 4. 2 and 3 would basically just have to sit until it gets warmer and i get the other parts.

um... you're asking us to tell you what to ask your parents for your birthday? lol

I say option #1, but get a dealer to do it for you. A timing belt isn't something you should fack around with. What if you get a faulty belt? It snaps and destroys your engine. If you installed the timing belt yourself, you have to replace the engine; you're f***ed.

If you get Honda to install it, they'll cover everything under warranty. his is just the way I think. There's no way I'd ever do something as crucial as a timing belt myself. I had Acura Saskatoon do my T-belt and water pump, it came to 600$. IMO, it's worth the warranty.

if you read the whole post, you would know that he's doing an EX exhaust conversion and needs a catalytic converter for it... since he already needs a cat, he might as well get a brand new high-flow one

option 1.

You need to replace: timing belt, water pump, water pump seal, tensioner set, thermostat, and maybe a cover or two depending on your cover condition. If your crank seal is leaking, it will be a good time to replace that as well (it sucks).

As for the y8 manifold conversion, read up on what you will need, or else your car will be killing itself over vacuum leaks. And there are certain parts and combinations that will only work with your vehicle.
