outside teperature is off

outside teperature is off
2006, civic sedan LX.
The outside temperature gauge is always too high, not by 3 or 4 degrees but sometimes 10-15 degrees off. Is this a common problem with these gauges? Or is something malfunctioning? Where is the sensor located? Maybe it has been moved and it's close to a warm engine or exhaust part.
Thanks for the help

Figured it out, for those of you people reading this and having the same problem.
Hold the reset button when the temperature is displayed on the display, for 10 seconds.
Keep holding it down and there will be -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3. Those are the temps that can be changed. Those arent the temperatures, there are the differentials that you can change from the temp. Dont ask me why this is an option, but hopefully this will help someone.
They can just read the manual like I did LOL
