Overdrive???
Hey guys I have a 2000 Si and was wondering if I have an overdrive button or something to make rpm's drop when Im cruising at highway speeds. I thought 5th gear was overdrive but when Im in 5th gear doin about 70mph Im at 4000rpm's. This has to do with the way the gears are ratioed right?
Yes. I feel that b16 tranny that your car comes with stock is one of the best OEM tranny's available. There is no overdrive button.

Maybe the S2000 was not made to cruise around on highways ! It's a pretty powerful car and the best gift you can have with a Honda S2000 is the sound it makes.... If you have the money to pay a Honda S2000 you may have money to pay the fuel.... xD
cvcrcr99, it was not a F22 in the S2000 and not a b16 ? If I remember the b16 was a Civic engine ? You know frankenstein engines were ex; H22 with a cam of H23 which went on prelude and b16 and D16 which which were on Civic and Acura 1.6 EL ?

I'm confused here. You mention a overdrive button, then say its a 5speed. The overdrive button is only for automatics.
So, if its a stick - no overdrive button. And as the former owner of a 99Si, I know that you should be getting pretty good gas mileage being in 5th gear. Just make sure you keep her under 3,000 RPM whilst on the city streets.

Why am I the worst kind of people on the planet ? Is this a joke ? I admitt my english is not perfect but I'm sure you guys can understand what I say without too much problems....
If you'd see people for Vancouver or United States trying to speak french XD I have a lot of fun listening to you too ! You should try to speak without any mistake in french... write me a perfect sentence in french ! Let's go ! Come on !
Je suis certain qu'au moins la moitié des personnes ici présentes ne seront même pas capable de lire la petite phrase que je suis en train d'écrire parce que vous semblez renier les personnes qui sont minoritaires en Amérique du Nord.... Les Québécois...
