Default Pin Stripe Removal

Hey guys. I have a 2010 Civic that has a Pin (pen?) stripe on it. The stripe was there when I bought the car earlier this year. However, it is kind of rough looking - it looks like it wants to come off in a couple of places. I would like to just remove it altogether but what is stuck on seems REALLY stuck.

Can I remove this without damaging the paint? Should I just call a body shop or detailer and let them do it?

Thanks in advance.

The easiest way to remove decals and striping is to get a heat gun and a plastic squeegee/scraper. Get the stripe hot then use the scraper to remove the vinyl part. Then use adhesive remover on the adhesive to remove what is left. I like goof-off but there are many other types. It will remove any wax it touches so make sure you wash it right away then re-wax that area.
Depending on the age and color of the car and how long it has been on there, you may still see an outline of the stripe.
I have a 94 with dark blue pain and there is a perfect impression of a sea turtle from the previous owner. It will be there until the car is repainted.
