Default Possible Damage?

So yesterday I was just driving my ej8 with the stock d16y8 and i/h/e, and my gas pedal got stuck under my floor mat (yeah..wtf?) and the engine was bouncing of the rev limiter for a couple of seconds. I quickly shut off the engine while driving and stopped on the side of the road, and figured out what happened. I drove it afterward and everything seems fine, popped the hood and listened to the engine, sounds normal, but I am still concerned? So, could I have ****ed something up?

Maybe some damage to the engine, but not too much, that rev limiter helped the engine not rev too high.. Just try not to do that a lot.

certainly nothing at all, the redline is there for a reason, and the revlimiter too. You can rev your engine to the redline without danger IMO

the rev limiter is there for a reason... to KEEP you from revving into a range that will cause damage. it's probably fine. although you COULD tear apart the block if you want to check on everything......

bouncing off the limiter won't destroy your engine if it happens once in a while. How long was it on the limiter? Did it bounce on it for a few seconds, or did you just tag it once or twice and shut the car off? It's when you keep bouncing it off the limiter that you get valve float. Personally, I'd say you're probably fine.

-and just because the limiter's there doesn't mean it's a good idea to keep bouncing off it.

I'm not saying to bounce it every time you take off... I'm just saying that reving your engine that high once in a while by accident...
