can plugs damage distributer
I'm in the process of buying a 93 civic 4 door its the ex model so from what i've read it's got a decent motor in it. I'm only paying $800 for the car so I would of got it no matter what was in it but i guess I just lucked out on the motor. My first order of business after putting new brakes on it is to tune up the motor change the oil etc. I had planned on buying aftermarket plugwires and hot plugs, but I remember my brother had problems with his 99 civic dx when he did this I think it screwed up his distributer or somthing, and the guys at the dealership told him to keep with the honda oem stuff, was this a fluke. Was the dealership just trying to sell some parts? What do other members like as far as wires and plugs go, remember this is an $800 daily driver.

yea that was what my brother said I just coudnt remember, What about plug wires. Im planning on doin cheap stuff to the motor like intake and exhaust it's got 158,000 miles on it so I'm not really gonna invest to much money into this motor.

yeah, go with stock replacements. unless youre running boost and an aftermarket ignition, and you actually need bigger wires to handle the spark, then you will probably lose power with big aftermarket wires. spend the money on intake, header, and exhaust.
