Default Power Windows Tails

This is a warning to all of you out there with rough windows (92-95 coupes have this the most).

I was driving on the NJ turnpike when suddenly my window just fell into the door after the toll plaza. It made weird noises and refuced to go back up. It was HELL driving home with a wide open window...freezing is a nice word for this. So I get home and take the door panel off, peel the plastic off and see a nice picture...the bolts that held the power window motor in place ripped trough sheetmetal and the motor with the window fell inside of the door. The holes it made because of the bolts coming loose are huge. Right now I put some washers in there, but I'm gonna weld those in soon. IF YOUR WINDOW is having a hard time closing, is oof track or in any way is inproperly seated you might be causeing more damage by operating the window. Take the door panel off and tighten the bolts, its cheap insurance.

Thanks for the heads up. My passenger side window refuses to go up unless you pull it up because it somehow got off track and folded the weather stripping in. Plus that little motor is weak as hell.

That is exactly the same problem that I had. It's a fairly easy fix and 40 minutes should be enough.

Which weatherstripping did you use in its place? I've gone to buy it before but theres like a billion different kinds to choose from.

I didn't change the weatherstripping. I used WD-40 in the channels, just a fine mist, and its perfect now. you just have to take the time and get the glass into the channels...u need a flashlight and a buddy to get that right.

I was involed in a minor fender bender which was my driver doorand the dudes rear bumpper. Well after a few years later and after the insurance work down on it to fix it well needless to say that my has removed it self the clamps. I have to roll my window down every day to come to work and i need to know how fix it. My weather stipping chewed all to hell would this be the problem or what?
