i put a header on my 98 honda civic and pounded the cat out and now i have a ckeck engine light on.... dont know what to do ??? please help

 

may have damaged the o2 sensor in the process.

 

yeah it sounds like an os problem, go to your local orileys, and ask to use their computer, it is free, and it will tell you enerything that is wrong

could be the fact that you have no catalyst anymore and that the secondary O2 sensor is picking up on the fact that the catalytic converter is no longer doing it's job. this will set off a DTC and can only be solved 4 ways:

Get a new cat
get an O2 simulator
put a spark plug non-fouler in the Secondary O2 bung to keep it out of the exhaust path and therefore transmit the correct readings
or get an ECM tuner to clear the code from turning the CEL on for that specific problem.
