Talking Question out of curiousity

For quite some time I've been wondering this......I have a 96 civic lx sedan and well based on other civics like mine here, it doesn't run as slow (lol). So I figured there was something up with this car when I bought it but my question is really this. There's a fuel rail with the label "IPT" on it....can't seem to find it ANYWHERE online other than another forum and the guy only mentions having it installed. I guess it's possible the injectors might be the same but haven't the slightest. Is that a racing fuel rail or something? Because that would be the only reason I see for my car running above normal compared to other 96 civic sedans here. I've even had an engine swap to vtec cuz of my lame mechanic failing to diagnose a problem early and well the power I get hasn't changed so I know for sure it isn't the engine.

But yea......my main question really is whether or not IPT is a racing fuel rail. Thanks!

idk if IPT is performance, but regardless, a fuel rail is not going to give you any gains unless your setup requires a high-flow fuel rail.

Thanks for the quick reply. It was just a question of curiosity since I've never heard of IPT anywhere. It's still strange to have that kinda power in my civic so I guess the setup theory could be possible, everything DOES look sorta strangely wired (whole lotta signs of splicing n stuff under the hood lol). Thanks again.

the wire splicing is probably result of your VTEC engine being swapped in.

i didn't mean that your setup might require a high-flow fuel rail, i meant that the only gains seen by a fuel rail would be on a setup that would benefit from a high-flow fuel rail such as turbo, N/A build, or supercharger. you won't get any gains from a high-flow fuel rail on a car with a stock engine or minor mods like intake/header/exhaust.

n/a means naturally aspirated (aka not turbo'd or supercharged)
so an n/a build would be engine internals and natural aspiration, like a regular short ram or cold air intake.

An "IPT" is a stock fuel rail. That's the company that made them for Honda. The rail itself won't affect your performance, it is just a pipe. The injectors and regulator attached to it will.
