Default reverse from park lot

how to judge the distance from the back car when reversing car from park lot? I just felt it is hard to figure out if there is some distance from other car only by checking throught the back window. Does anyone has same experience? Thanks for any advice!!!

I use myside mirrors a lot, and it helps me a lot to actually turn my body around and look out the back. Chances are, if youve got alright depth perception, youll be A-okay telling how far away the other cars are. Dont just use your mirror, see for yourself.

what i did when i first started driving was ....back up close to something about a foot away...and then get into the car....then look behind you and remember that, thats how close an object looks when it is a foot behind you...i dunno if it will work for ya...but yea...

If you're backing into a spot, check the car next to you and see if your seating position lines up with their steering wheel.

I just look out the back at the top of the trunk. And remember how far back my bumper extends from it. That's the good thing about the Mini. I can touch the farthest back point on the car with my hand when I'm driving.

i use the little round blind-spot mirrors on my worktruck, and now im so used to them, i had to put them on both of my cars. they help so much in parking.

+1!!! No, really, practice is the best way. Just back up to an object, like everyone else is saying, and get back in. Remember that mental picture. The best thing to remember is, PRACTICE it!!! If you get a spot in a parking lot...Back up into it. You're pullin' into your driveway...stop and back into it. Whatever it takes...And it'll improve your skills when it comes to reversing. Can't go wrong w/ improvement!
