It's rather ridiculous that my 2000 Civic is more expensive for insurance than my '06 CR-V... valued at over $18k more... all because of idiots such as the ones Roto was talking about...

OK, here we go. I won't start on this whole thing, just a couple of points directly releveant to what you said.
- My 92 Si insurance is lower than 03 Si which is lower than Murano. It cost me $640 for all three, and two of them are still financed
- Usually people are too lazy to shop around for better insurance rate. But this could save real $$$. Try mine, it might be better than you have now.

The funny thing about this is that both "performance moddersโ€ and โ€œricersโ€ seem to deem only their vision to be correct, and refuse any reason to the opposite party. This resembles countless other confrontations in the human history almost to the letterโ€ฆ
So since I am not a "performance modder" that makes me a "ricer?" And if that isn't true, I don't belive that either preferences are wrong its just that you do what you want to your car depending on what you want it to be. So what would that make me??

??????? [:-] Did I say this anywhere? There is more to this world than just black and white. I don't belong to any of these groups, too. And I dont think this makes me suffering
All what I'm trying to do in this thread is to make people to understand and accept that others' opinions can be legitimate, even if they contratict their own ones.

Dude, if that is your car in your gallery, then by definition, you are Uncle Ben. You may not have the ricer attitude, but your car screams "roll me up in seaweed".

Thats exactly my point, people only see their way as the right way of modifying a car. My car is rice to you because I spend my money on making it look good insted of making it fast. I think the stereotyping of modifying your car is stupid as hell, because I want to put a body kit on my car and lambo doors that makes me rice because I "should" be spending that money on a turbo or swap insted and making it fast insted of just looking like it is. I just wish that everyone would do what they liked to their car, If you don't like what someone else did to their car thats fine and if you like what they did thats fine too, but the whole calling it rice or whatever is pretty stupid and is blown way out of proportion. here's my 2 cents. imo rice comes in all flavors. i should know, i've met dumbasses w/ suped motors and nothing else doing flybys, the other day a colbalt flew by me on the highway. i was going 70, he had to at least of been doing 100. and i know he did it on purpose cuz i saw him in the rear view. maybe because he saw that i had a honda w/ a bodykit (its very hard to miss a buddyclub rear) my car is not for speed, its a sedan slammed to the ground, what's the point you ask? it's an attention grabber, it turns heads, especially at shows. i know what ur thinking, its just begging to get stolen right? honestly, if someone can afford to do any modifications to their car, then they can afford to get a decent alarm and full coverage if so much money was spent modifying. my thing is, y bother putting so much in your motor when you know ur *** is going to get busted trying to see what it can do. and if its not for a track u know that person is street racing. which i've noticed a lot of people blaming f&f ricers, but what about the guys who have the cleanest whips around w/ stage 3 turbos? so many things can go wrong, axles snapping, blown tires that will cause u to swerve into someone, when a motor blows because the boost is unneccessarily high.(its not a pretty sight) but they know this right? rice, performance modder, to each his own, in their eyes its money well spent for a purpose, f*ck everyone else, if they don't like it tell them to fix it w/ their own money. i've been on both ends, at one point i thought a shopping cart wing was the coolest thing in the world, but i've grown since then. i tried my hand in the jdm scene it turned heads (mostly the performance oriented) but now in my slammed accord( which i call the g ride) girls and haters stare. and you know something, hate it or love it, they're still staring

nope. you are still talking about "what you drive
a lot of the time what you drive shows a nice glimpse of your attitude, if you drive a lifted truck people will think your a redneck, and that may be true, but not always. if you drive a civic with a skyscraper wing on the trunk and are revving it up at every other car on the road, and street racing, your a ricer or just a stupid individual, but if you have the same stuff on your car and you drive around sensibly obeying the law, people will still stereo type you as a ricer why? because of the wing, because someone else thinks its tacky. ricer is just a label, and this topic is just stupid.
