The used car I'm looking at is fine except the engine looks and sounds a bit rough to me. The exterior looks great, same w/ interior, all electronics work, seems to drive fine, but the engine is kinda loud. Not "bad" sounds like a clanking or clicking, just normal engine sounds, only loud/rough sounding. Is this something a simple tuneup couldn't fix, or should I avoid the car? Again, seller seemed honest, the price is great, and everything else about the car is fine.

 

Loud and rough raises red flags for me.
