Default sheet metal

okay so this integra i have has been a pain,
okay so i am finaly getting to body work, but i know nothing about body work...
it has a leaking sunroof that doesnt close, and its after market so it looks like ****, soooo i am going to take it out completly and seal the hole.

this is what i am going to do,

take it off, there are screws from the inside pointing up about 18 of them around the actual glass. so taking it off isnt a problem, but...sealing it

okay i figured i would weld a peice of sheet metal. from the inside covering the whole and do a coustum headliner. and then bondo the top to make it even and level
my body knows how to weld so i trust him with it, but what size sheet metal should i use?

anything you reccomend?

sorry for all of the typos. if they are really that bad i will fix them i am just tirred and lazy ha
thanks

I would remove it, then check the thickness using the hole. No clue that the thickness of the roof is lol
