I was jut wondering if there really was a differnce between a weighted shift ****. or just a regular one, are the weighted ones worth getting?

^i am with tater on this... what's the point? all i ever hear are people put on a weighted know and then a few weeks later their shifter snaps

The ***** are weighted so it makes the shifter top heavy, therefor making the shifter easier to move.

because OEM shifters are usually cheap plastic, flimsy and basically an afterthought on most cars (case in point: EG shifters)

get something substantial and shift with authority....

i would say they are more for looks...if you cant move your stock shifter with authority....you may needa hit the gym up, or just be ashamed of urself lol

We feel these are potentially dangerous and bad for transmissions, and we WILL NOT sell ***** this heavy. Extremely heavy ***** can possibly close the gap between the shifter rail and the gears, causing damage to the gears in much the same way as the bad habit some drivers have of resting their hands on the shift ***** constantly. When the gap closes, the transmission fluid can no longer lubricate these parts. Really heavy ***** also run the risk of bending shift forks by creating too much leverage when shifted agressively.

something that i found online and the main reason i dont have a heavy one, just a solid metal aftermarket one.

oh, im sorry, perhaps this may explain why hurst shifters have been around for DECADES...

Ive got a skunk2 short shifter and weighted ****........I love em both. The shifter def aint breakin.....its real sturdy.
