So my insurance provider mailed me a snapshot device (apparently my parents think I'm horrible driver and they can now 'spy' on me). Does anyone know about the device? Will it cause any problems? No planned obsolescence technology built in..

 

like a gps tracking device?
or like it saves how fast you were going and stuff..

 

According to the website it tracks stopping time (no greater than 7mph change in a second), mileage per day and what hours you drive.. it SAYS it is not a tracking device.

Sorry to put you guys through this.. How It Works: Snapshot Discount, Usage-Based Insurance It plugs into your data port.. it's been advertise on tv like crazy. I either put it on my car or get kicked off their policy.. and that $75 monthly difference MIGHT be worth it
