SR22 Insurance Issue

SR22 Insurance Issue
I have a question that someone might have an answer too.
I was suppose to get SR-22 Insurance (You required to obtain it when you get into a car accident), well I got it stamped on my recent insurance agency, but my policy expired in 2 more months, so I stopped having SR-22 or any insurance at all. It's been about a month since no insurance or SR-22 and I'm suppose to have it for 1 year, well, the problem now is, theres cops sitting outside my apartment, like where my car is...
So the big question is, if I don't have SR-22 Insurance, can a warrant be placed out for my arrest? Although it's "traffic" related..?

Don't drive without insurance. I don't think you can be arrested unless you are caught driving.
If your car has a loan on it the finance company will insist that you have collision and comp insurance, or they can repo the car or force very expensive insurance on it.

First....Why would you possibly want to drive without insurance! That's a mistake that can be VERY penny wise but pound foolish!
Second...Your insurance company will (if your state is like mine) inform your bank that they are no longer providing you with insurance coverage. They know whoyour bank isbecause information regarding any lienholderswas provided to the insurance company when you first took out coverage. The bank will then (1) require you to provide proof of insurance, or (2) provide you with insurance if you don't comply and add a hefty amount to your monthly payment. If you refuse to pay, they can and will repo it as stated by mk378.
If your car is paid for, my first comment still applies. Get in one accident for which you are held liable and/or found at fault, and you could be paying for it for the rest of your life.

Also in many states if there's no insurance on a car you have to take the license plates off and return them to the DMV. A substantial penalty may apply later that is based on the length of time you had the plates but no insurance.
