Default Stumped

Ok i have my old 90 civic hatch with a b15 that im trying to sell because i dont need it and its really just in the way.. but.. on to the question.

The reason i bought my 2000 was because i was driving down the freeway and all the sudden the check engine light popped on then i lost complete acceleration even when my foot was on the pedal. So i towed it to the mechanic and at first they said it was the timing belt.. The next day they called back and said they had no idea what was wrong with it and that they check compression (ok), distributor (ok), sparkplugs (ok), sparkplug wires (ok), so they narrowed it down to the ecu.. so i go out just last and get my ecu rebuilt.. (same problem doesnt fire but will try and turn over). So is there anything else i can check? i really want to get this thing running again so i can sell it. (i replaced the engine, distributor, fuel pump all about 6 months before this happened back in april).

Have you done any of the previous things yourself, or always at a garage?

A clogged cat can cause problems such as you're having.

i have done none of the work myself.. but the shop i take it too is the best around.. (post office and other major businesses use them). Wouldnt it still fire even if the cat was clogged?
