the same year cars had the same size tails, the only difference in size(and shape) was between the 2 door and 4 door models.

 

I think it was mxs that once said that the clears versus ambers are not specific to a trim line, the appeared on some of all the trim lines from 99-00, however, some cars did not have them. Just seems like some did and some didn't.

 

for the coupes (2door) the size of the tail lights stayed the same 96-00. 96-98 were red/amber 99-00 were red/clear. so you can put tail lights from a 99 and put them in a 96.

The sedan (4door) changed size for 99-00 they also reshaped the license plate box. for the sedan they kept the red/amber but flipped it so the amber was on top instead of bottom.
