I'm new to the forum but not to Civics, so I thought I'd chime in here. I'm 6' 7" and have owned 6 civics from my trusty old '81 hatch to my current '06 SI. I've never had any problems fitting in any of them. The seat is always in the rearmost position and the seatback a little reclined, but it's never been a problem.

Default 6'7"?

Well, I test drove a 2006 Civic a couple days ago. With the seat all the way back and down and a little bit reclined, the fit was almost there--not quite.

Erikivy, wow--if you're 6'7" and it's not a problem, I should be able to make it work. Just out of curiosity, what's your inseam? I'm thinking a big part of my problem may be that a lot of my height is in my legs. My inseam is 36".

The main things I'm after in a car are low price, reliability, and fuel efficiency. I'm not interested in performance or amenities at all. I tried sitting in an Accord, and there was more leg room, but I feel it would be a waste to spend thousands more on a more luxurious car when luxury isn't something I care about. I just want something I can spend very little money on and drive for 10+ years by treating it well. I think the Civic will be perfect if I can make a little more room somehow.

Oh, by the way, I love the "STOP! Grammar time!" thing. LOL.

I'm 6'2" and 205. 34 inch inseam. I've had an 82 Civic Dx, a 2003 Civic Dx, and, until recently, a 2003 EX.

I fit in them all fine, although I put the seat all the way back.

It's funny, though, the seat in my DX definitely goes back further than the one in the EX. The DX is much more comfortable for me to drive. Maybe it's the thickness of the padding in the seats?

My 05 Civic and my wife's '12 CR-V have a control on the side of the seat to raise and lower it for headroom. Don't know if the newer ones have that feature. If they do, maybe the dealer had it cranked up and didn't tell you about it.
