not realy sure myself... i think my old friend said he had his old SI to around 120-125mph

BUT thats not realy important cause in MOST countries you wont be able to LEGALY go that fast anyways....
and if you THINK about testing your car out with some SERIOUS SPEEDING.... remember this your tire ratings are VERY IMPORTANT!!!! most ratings are not rated that high speed or even close!!!!!! and if you exced those tire RATINGS the tires can come apart very quickly..... and at that speed a blow out is VERY SERIOUS..

not to mention EVEN IF you have some highspeed rated tires.... at that speed if a cop sees you......... well DO NOT PASS GO..... DO NOT COLLECT 200 DOLLARS.... GO STRAIGHT TO JAIL...... and you will probably have your car crushed......

Does it really matter?... and it wouldn't be any faster then the top speed of the car before you put those mods on.

my 1.6 eg turbo 125mph+ with a slipping clutch tyres rated 150+ its always a good idea to get the right tyres even though you can do that sort of speed.

the last quote is incorrect

i dont know if you have noticed that most cars will not reach the rev limiter in 5th gear this is because the car has a speed limiter or the force of the air on the car is so great that the car can no longer accelerate. buy increasing the bhp and torque the car has more power to force its way through the opposing force hence a higher top speed.

this is also why i find that dyno testing is not the way to test a cars preformance as it doesnt simulate the forces/friction on the car because it is stationary. i think there are many people who would agree with me.
