Default Totaled Civic-Story & Pics

So on last friday I set a time to have my car tuned about 45minutes south from where I live. Instead of risking something breaking, I decided to trailer it down. The trailer I was using was from my dads workplace, a dual axle trailer. I had used the trailer before to haul my 81 buick and had no problems with it. I asked my friend if he could pull it for me because I only have a jeep and my dad wasn't available to use his company truck. So we're heading down the road and all of a sudden we feel a big jerk and look back and the trailer started swaying from side to side pretty violently. So by instinct, my friend hit his brakes to try and slow it down, but by that time the trailer had already came off the hitch and broke the safety chains. Just as the car and trailer let go an F-350 that was passing hit it. The truck, car, and trailer were totaled. My prayers are with themandriving the truck, and his family,as he is still in ICU. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. The two other guys walked away with minor injuries. I had full coverage as well as my friend. Bad thing is that I think he's going to have to pay for mostly everything.

We took a look at the trailer after the accident and found that the tounge was still in the latchedposition, andthe front right tire was blown. We think that the tire blew and that caused the trailer to swerve, which caused the tounge to pop off of thehitch.Yes, we were usingthe right size ball with the tounge. Just a really really freak accident I guess...

Hereare some pics of my car... It will be parted out for the most part, I'll be making a for sale thread on basically anything you see that you want sometime in the future. Insurance still has to come and look at it.

damn my prayers go out to all involved. So sad to see your car go to waste like that, it looks like it was pretty nice.

I hope that the insurance covers the damages and no one gets sued or anything crazy like that.

Gee, now I think my car is dangerous to drive in. Ok as a 2 seater, but for a family hauler I guess I'll use my 99 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport 3.3L!

You gotta realize that impact to the back of the car in both cases was at rather high speed....in my case it was an 80mph car running into my at a standstill, in his case it was a "head on" or in this care rear to head of the truck collision. And a caravan folds just as nicely...
