vtec timeing

Default vtec timeing

I have a Honda CIVIC VTI-S the 1.8, the car is avesome and has raw power. My Vtec kicks in at bang on 6thousand rpms is that normal with the vti-s or is something wrong.

nope i think thats normal, thats pretty much when mine kicks in.... till i get a controller for it[sm=badbadbad.gif]

i dont know about if it has any dual stage inatke runners, is that something that comes standard because i aint modified the engine at all apart from an air filter.

would you guys believe my engine has lerjit 17k on the clock and it is only a t-reg.

do you have any pictures of it? the 1.8 vtecs (not type R) in the USA have a dual stage intake, but im not sure about the euro ones.

i think i found it in another thread. if it does (which im pretty sure of) then VTEC actually kicks in at 440, you just dont hear it due to the IM. its the IM switching over to the secondary runners at 5800 that you are hearing. perfectly normal for a 1.8l DOHC VTEC. and fun as hell!
