I just got a 1994 Honda Civic Hatch VX with a vtec-e. I know this thing was designed with only fuel economy in mind.

What can I do to it?
How does it respond to mods?
What are some cheaper (price) brands I can look into?

I am new and thought the section originally posted was to specific to start and the link to the old one... i am new.

 

There are only a few options for adding big power. First, you can swap your motor for a better one. Costs can be anywhere from under $1000 to over $5000. There are honda motors with about 200 HP stock that you can swap in. A popular engine is the B16. Another way to make big power is to turbo your stock motor. You can buy kits or build your own. Either way its going to cost you about $1500 + to buy all the turbo stuff and tune your car. You can also get a supercharger. If you dont want to spend that kind of money, but you want a little more HP, go with simple stuff like intake, exhaust, header, etc.

 

someone else posted a similar post. They said they had $600 to start off with, ill give you the same advice i gave them. CAI and a hooker.

 

Yes it cost more, but I would go with teh Superchager for a DD car.

So my 1994 VX has a 1.5 liter 92hp vtec-e......
What typical gains can I expectwith an intake, header and exhauston this particular engine?
Since this is a vtec-e is there a ECU swap or vtec controller swap for this engine?
