The code is in the VIN number. It's digits 4, 5, and 6. For example my car is "1HGED3..." means it is an ED3 USDM 4 door DX/LX.

Also if the first letter of the VIN is "J", car was built in Japan, if it is a "1" it was assembled in USA, or Canada (or Mexico, but I don't think Honda ever had a factory there).

well, my CRX is an ED9, but its called an EF by fanbois. that being said, i think EF means "exceptionally fast" since this car would pull my old EJ2, which i think fanbois call an EG.

you missed a few, you forgot to include the UKDM and the EDM in those, however i know the EJ1 in hte uk has a d15b7 engine and is a 1.5 16v SOHC non vtec, and is from 92-95 (however some were registered in 96, my old one was), its also a 2 door coupe, and was branded LS or LSI the major differences was the LSI has factory leccy windows, mirrors, and sunroof, the spoiler was an option on all coupes, as was front fog lights.

Don't forget about the Acura 1.6EL in Canada...
I think it's technically a Civic EX though.

Has anyone ever actually asked you guys a question that would require a chassis code answer? I mean, anyone IN the Honda world already knows what it is. And I can't imagine anyone OUTSIDE of the Honda world would give a ****?

In the 3+ years I owned my Civic, no one ever asked what chassis code it was. The only questions I got were "what year is it?" and "christ, what'd you do to make it able to beat my bimmer?!" Name: icon_lol.gif
