Your gonna want 5W-30 all temperatures or 10W-30 at temperatures above 20° F.

I don't think Jiffy Lube will put 5W-20 in your car, they fill it with the cheap crap i believe. I would never take my car to Jiffy Lube, i can do a better job and save $10. I don't think its that bad that i gotta jack up the car and take a filter out.

I live in Southern Cali too. I live in the High Desert and I use 10W30. In fact I just did a change. I was using royal purple but I switched to Mobil1 full synthetic. I liked royal purple but I figured I would try this to see if it might clean thigns out a bit better.

I just changed mine, I have metal ramps to drive up onto. The only problem is we had to use 2x4 boards to lessen the angle of the ramp so I don't hit my front bumper. My car has had Jiffy lub oil all it's life untill I bought it. And the motor is dirty! After just 2.9k miles the oil was already black. So i changed it, and now i'm running AMSOIL XL 5W20. And man after a drive this stuff is thin. I can barely tell if there is enough oil in there because when i pull the stick out it all just runs down and drips of the bottom! So i don't think it would be a good idea for you guys living in the hot states. Although Here in Michigan it gets hotter then in SOCAL, but it's the 0* winters that make me use light oil. I went to arizona two years ago, and it was 120* out. almost pasted out when i stepped off my plane. I think my 5W20 would be like rubbing alcohol at that temp.

I've also switched a K&N perfomance gold Oil filter. SO far i've noticed my car feels a lot smoother. It takes less effort and gas to cruise and my acceleration seems to be smoother. Not faster, just smoother.

I have jacks and ramps to lift the car but it's dangerous, i would rather pull it up on a curb and crawl under it, this is the first car that i could not reach the filter without jacking it sucks.
5-20 is very light oil and should change every 5k per manual. I use Dino oil penzoil jiffy lube puts the same 5-20 it all turns black because of the detergent additives. synthetic is better but not worth it unless you change it every 10k and that would look like espresso because of the detergent. Does anybody know of an oil filter relocation mod

If the motor didn't have all that dirt to be dissolved by the detergent additives then it wouldn't turn black as quick. Thats the point i'm getting at. And my oil is rated at 7,500 miles. And I add LC20 oil additive. that helps extend the quality of your oil. but it will be changed after 5,000-6,000 pending on how it looks. I just feel sythetic offers better wear protection, and it's a honda, so i'm pushing to hit that 250,000 mile mark someday.
