I just installed an AEM SRI and now when I turn on the AC, it makes a bad sounding "choking" noise and almost stalls the car. Can you please check these pics to see if my install looks right and that I have the hoses in the right place? Anyone have any ideas?

See how the longer hose is connected to both ends of that metal pipe right above the valve cover? Is it supposed to be like that? The directions weren't too clear....

 

im not sure, but i think you forgot to plug one more thing to the intake no?

 

Well, I plugged in the air temp sensor and the breather tube like the DIY on this site says...

 

Did your engine light turn on? i know i had to unplug my battery for like 5 minutes to reset the code. And then you have to let the computer learn the new air intake. (lol i think im trying to sound smart, but thats what i really did)

 

No it didn't throw a CEL but I just drove it again about 10 min ago and the AC seemed to work fine. But, I'm still not sure I did the hoses right...see where I have that hose connected to that metal pipe thing above the valve cover so that it's connecting one end of the pipe to the other? Is that routed right do you know?

BTW, I checked to make sure I hooked everything up to the SRI and I did, I have the air temp sensor hooked in, and the breather tube set up... can someone post up a pic of a 6th gen D16Y7 setup so I can see where the hoses are supposed to go?

 

did you make the IAT is properly connected?

Didn't the cold air come with instructions? Remember, when all else fails read the instructions!

 

Yes, and they were the ****tyest instructions that I ever read...I would of thought that AEM would make clearer directions...

 

You could have got that installed by a mechanic. It would have costed a little more money, but when something happens you can blame someone else instead of yourself.
