Maybe the original head was swapped for a different one?

 

I guess I need to take the valve cover off and see what I really have. I thought a vtec head would have a vtec valve cover too. If its not raining this weekend, I'll take the valve coveroff.

I relocated my oil filter so I don't have to crawl under the car to change the oil. I have one of those oil vacuum pumps that goes in the dip stick tube, too. Saves a lot of time and money.

 

thats not a vtec selonoid, its were the egr(exhaust gas recerculation) valve would of went.

that is the engine 3rd engine down, its the same as the d15b7 just with fewer miles and feels stronger because its not as worn out

how come it aint there? an y would my cover over that not be their?

 

Myguess is thatthe EGR valve on this engine was a JDM emmissions requirement or something. Evidently we don't need it in the US, at least on this motor. Why isn't yours blocked? No idea. Maybe the head gasket has it blocked internally. Or maybe its open and leaking exhaust all the time. Sure wouldn't hurt to block it off.

 

i started my car and had a friend rev the engine i didnt feel any pressure coming out of it. so should i still block it or will it be fine?
