whats the best motor for a 96 ek?

Default whats the best motor for a 96 ek?

im lookin for a motor w/dohc that atleast have 200hp...that would bolt up with the d16 tranny and would use the stock motor mounts...

Unfortunately, no 200+bhp twin cam engine will bolt up to your d16 transmission and use the stock mounts.

Personally, I'd save up about $4k and swap in an H22, or save up $5-6k and do a k20 swap.

why not get a turbo setup/build if you're going to spend $6k?

if i do a trubo setup in my d series i have to change the heads, valve and all that stuff and probably get around 300hp or sumthing...

Well, first off, what d-series do you have? And second, you really don't need to change the top end... there's plenty of boosted single cam non-vtecs running around pushing more than enough power to keep you happy.
