i have an 03 evo VIII right now, but im looking to get into something that i wont be affraid to play with. just wondering what are the best year/trim/motor to mod

 

for modding i would go with either a 92-95 or a 96-98/99-00 they are the most mod friendly models for civics...

 

Depending on how much you really want to spend Id go with the brand new 06 Si or a 99-00 Si.

 

im looking to spend 5000-8000 on the car and put 3000-4000 in mods and im thinkin civic cause the aftermarket is great and they're good cars. but other than that im open to suggestions. keep in mind i had a modded 00 Lightning before the evo so a low 13 second car is starting to seem average to me

 

in cali you can buy a 00 si for 6k-8k and then boost it or keep all mototr with the 3k-4k and you might have a chance at getting close to that low. not sure but it would be a sweet ride with investing that much in it.

 

You could get a 99SI with the DOHC B16 and build the bottom end for 2500 bucks, then spend another 2500 on a nice turbo setup. You could dip that into low 12s on slicks with a proper suspension. Youve gotta build it if ya wanna lay down some high boost numbers.

 

i should mention that the only extierior mods will be 17" wheels with nice tires. why you ask? because sleepers are naughty. and the niether the L or the evo are close to being sleepers
