i bought the exact same car a 95 civic ex black 2 door everything. the 66k which was displayed on the cars odometer is not the actual mileage. the speedometer doesnt work i think it had something to do with the speed sensor. so i highly doubt 88k is actual mileage.

 

I doubt it is too. He replaced the valve cover gasket when he replaced the waterpump and timing belt so it was just maintenance, nothing something that was wrong.
