wierd smell

Default wierd smell

i just installed my dc sport header and skunk2 exhaust and now i have a wierd smell is this normal

Yea, it's gonna smell for a little bit i think its about 100 miles or so then it should go away. don't quote me on that thou, but I do recall something about the header break in or something of that sort.

thats EXactly what it is "break-in" i work in a custom exhaust shop and typically ALL new systems do smell for a little bit ..especially with all the diff coatings(ceramic, heat paint ) involved. It will be gone in a coupledays or sooner depending on your driving habits .

wow thank you guys for ur inputs...i finished installing the header and exhaust last night at 11pm...so i was only able to take it out for a minor spin..the smell isn't as bad as when i first turn the car on last night...thanx once again

yup smells like somethings burning...lol and since i did it myself i had doubts and thought i did something wrong..i guess the smell is a common and normal thing
