Wood Gasification Reactor
I am currently modifying my 86 3dr 1.3L to run on wood gas from a reactor mounted on the rear. It involves converting wood chips into hydrogen and carbon monoxide in a steel reactor unit. Is anyone else working on one of these? I have most of it figured out but would like to hear where exactly the fuel pipe is connected to your air intake area. When I get the unit completed and working I will make up some plans for anyone who wants to try building one.

You could always just stick a hose up your butt and have driver gasification and you probably could eliminate the reactor part......
You need to mix the gas with air in the proper ratio or it will not burn. A simple pipe with a tee in it is not going to do it. What will you do with the excess gas that you can't use in the engine because you need to slow down or stop? I assume these reactors can't be started up or shut down quickly.
I have been working on this project for about 4 months. It is an old process which dates back to the early gasification of cities in the late 1700's, millions of European cars were converted during ww2 and there are companies making home heating using the same idea.
I may have to eliminate the auto choke and put a butterfly out in the air intake and have the gas pipe joining some where after that point. I could just mount a pipe on the manifold but I still want to try and run it on gasoline as well as gas. It has been an interesting project. There is no pressure on the system so it is pretty safe, the reactor part comes from the high temperature charcoal area which eliminates the tars and produces a good quality gas when it comes up to temperature.
