Default Work on a 1994 Civic LX or get another one

So I own a 1994 civic lx, automatic, and have had it for a few years now. The car is starting to need work so I'm thinking about just upgrading instead of replacing (exhaust, suspension, intake, etc)

However, I think that an automatic lx may not be the best platform. I'm not really keen on the automatic transmission plus it seems that the 4 door is a lot of extra weight.

Do you guys think this car is worth upgrading or should I sell it and but a different one?

Auto is gonna be your biggest hindrance. Nothing wrong with a 4 door, just no auto. You could always convert to 5 speed but it is a lot of work.

I have a 90 LX 4dr automatic. I have 158K on it. I'm shooting for 300K. I just fix mine & drive it. I get more offers to buy it than I like. Its not For Sale. When I had the windows tinted the guy doing the tinting wanted to buy it.
My advice drive it & enjoy it. I put a turbo exhaust on it that is the only upgrade. The tranny shifts nice & tight.
