Check your state laws. when in doubt ask someone who is in the legal department of motor vehicles. like at the DMV or somethin

I am almost positive that as long as they are not 8k and up (blue and purple) you will be totally fine. Yellow is not a cop color but you will absolutely hate the color of the road when you drive. You'll get dizzy from it.

I have the same exact bulbs for my fog lights. I can honestly say that I think they are illegal. My brother is a cop and he said the only color tint you are allowed to have for HEADLIGHTS is a blueish tint and they cannot be above 7,500 kelvins. Yellow is legal for fog lights though. Hope this helps.

he's talking about how blue is reserved for police because of the sirens and flashing blue lights, not HIDs. Blue lights on your headlights could be mistaken by people for the police's flashing blue lights.

Blue HID's shouldnt matter anyway, unless you were flashing them on and off trying to act like a cop......

Aftermarket HID conversions are illegal under Federal laws. The design of the headlamps has to be submitted by the manufacturer to be approved by DOT. Modification later by using a different type of bulb voids that approval. Putting HID bulbs in a halogen lens will change the light distribution and tends to be dangerous because it usually sends a lot more light upward to glare in other drivers' eyes. Tinted halogen bulbs and possibly covers on the outside are generally OK because they don't change the pattern of light, just the color.

With that said, a lot of people put in HIDs and don't get in trouble, as long as it's not glaringly obvious.
