Funtingtons 89si hatch build.
Well I figure that since the swap is in, and got all the classic ricer bolt ons, it must be time for a build thread. Excuse me for a 100% lack of photos! I never really have been an internet/forum attendee, but lately have wanted to document my progress, especially since I feel like the car has come leaps and bounds from when I bought it.
I own an DSLR d5000 from here on out you can expect no more cell phone pics from me I plan to document my build very intensively.
This is the only picture I have of when I got it. Had a front and back body kit bumper, held on by two wood screws each, the interior smelled like a homeless sex party, and the motor had been driven to *******. On top of that the body was littered with dents most noticably in the hood. The wheels were mis matched, although it came with 4 momo 15's. of course they were bent beyond drivablity. The car drove home, but almost had me in a ditch multiple times it floated across the road where ever it wanted.
Got a free front bumper off a honda of some sort haha, changed the oil. Flushed the trann...whats this? GAPING HOLE IN THE TRANNY CASING. sealed with gum like substance?... Ys1 here I come.
anywho before tranny, and all here is how it sat hoodless, with some BMW wheels that are almost perfectley fitted. Actually looks pretty HOOD in my opinion.

sounds like you've come a long way man. these classic civics are getting pretty old and most of the builds tend to be alot of restoration. Hell, mines only 10 years old and I've been doing alot of basic mainenance stuff just to get it out of the way.
good work and keep us posted on your progress.

yeah, I'm 24 but I bought my civic off of a highschooler. it was a really stupid mistake on my part, but I had to get a car in a hurry. I'm pretty sure it was in a wreck at some point. on the drive home the power steering went out. I replaced the pump, but the rack and pinion is leaking and will probably have to be replaced. The wheels aren't the right offset (I think) and they rub on the inside wheel well a little bit. One of the coilovers is missing a piece, so I couldn't get it aligned.... I ended up just getting new springs and shocks to replace the no name, worn out coilovers that are on there. Once I get my hands on a new cluster, I'll finally be able to get that huge tachometer out of there....
its a work in progress. Sometimes I wish I had just waited for a little while longer for a nice stock one to pop up in a dealership somewhere. but the past is 40/40 or whatever they say. haha

Thank you kind sir, honestly was not expecting any sort of welcome! I am going to try and get it as STOCK as possible!! Although I admit I am guilty of liking a few ricey things...

Stock with a drop and a few things like a good set of wheels really makes a civic look clean no matter what. And trust me so did I when I first got a Honda, but you as I did will quickly learn why rice is awful.
